The European Society of Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ESVCP) is an independent organization dedicated to advancing the field of veterinary clinical pathology. While independent, the Society is affiliated with the European Society of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ESVIM) and the Association of Comparative Clinical Pathology (AECCP) to benefit from shared organizational resources and collaboration opportunities. The ESVCP was officially registered in Munich, Germany, in September 1998.
The ESVCP is a non-profit society uniting veterinarians, scientists, and lab professionals dedicated to advancing veterinary clinical pathology. Our members collaborate in research, diagnostics, and education, focusing on all species. Through workshops, scientific meetings, and international partnerships, they promote innovation and excellence in hematology, biochemistry, and cytopathology.
All roles within the Society are honorary, reflecting a shared commitment to the field.
The ESVCP aims to foster strong connections among clinicians, pathologists, and clinical biochemistry experts. Its goals include supporting daily diagnostic work, promoting scientific research, encouraging information exchange, expanding knowledge, and coordinating collaborative studies. The Society's activities cover all animal species and disciplines within veterinary clinical pathology.
Our case studies explore real-world diagnostic challenges in veterinary clinical pathology across species.
They cover a wide range of disciplines including hematology, clinical chemistry, cytopathology, endocrinology, immunopathology, coagulation, molecular diagnostics, and toxicologic pathology.
These cases support continued learning, foster discussion, and promote best practices in laboratory medicine and diagnostic interpretation.
Membership in the ESVCP is open to anyone with an interest in any aspect of veterinary clinical pathology. Whether you're a practicing clinician, researcher, technician, or student, the Society welcomes your involvement and contributions to the field.
The ESVCP Congress is the society’s main annual scientific meeting, bringing together veterinarians, clinical pathologists, researchers, technicians, and students from across Europe and beyond. The event features a rich programme of keynote lectures, workshops, symposia, poster and mystery-case sessions, and the Residents’ Day. It’s an opportunity to share discoveries, exchange expertise, and connect with colleagues in veterinary laboratory medicine and clinical pathology.
